Jon Allen Clem, 78
Jon Allen Clem, 78, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away Nov. 8, 2017, at his home. Jon was born Aug. 1, 1939, in Wiggins, Colo., to Allen and Ella (Adams) Clem. As a child, Jon moved with his family to Albany, Calif., where he spent most of his childhood. There, he graduated from Albany High School in 1957.
After high school, Jon joined the United States Coast Guard. Once he was honorably discharged, Jon attended Concord Community College, and later Redland University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal science.
Jon’s passion in life was being a police officer. He worked as a police officer in California until his retirement.
Jon met Vicki Hines at a mutual friend’s party in 1966, and they were soon married on Sept. 24, 1967. They were married for 50 years when Jon passed away. In 1998, Jon and Vicki bought a piece of property on the North Fork of the Coeur d’Alene River, and enjoyed spending their summers there. They eventually moved to North Idaho in 2001.
Jon was a member of the Coeur d’Alene Elks and a fly fishing club. He loved spending time with his family, going for drives, fly fishing, four-wheeling and shooting.
He is survived by his loving wife, Vicki, of the family home in Post Falls; one son, Jon (Amy) Clem Jr., of Seattle, Wash.; one daughter, Kymberli (Shawn) Lochrie of Post Falls; one sister, Donna Stewart of Vacaville, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jon was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Jon’s life will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at the Coeur d’Alene Elks Lodge, 1170 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
