Donald Jacob Bodenman, 84

Donald Jacob Bodenman, 84, passed on to be with Jesus, Nov. 20, 2017, surrounded by family.

Don was born on June 7, 1933, in Menno, S.D., to John and Edna (Schorzman) Bodenman. He lived in Menno until he was 6 years old, when the family moved to Dryden Wash. He attended school and graduated from Peshastin Dryden High School in 1951, marrying Mary Caudle on Aug. 31, 1951.

Don and Mary made their home in the Peshastin-Leavenworth area and operated the Leavenworth Golf Course until they moved to Quincy, Wash., in 1953. Don farmed and developed land in Quincy with his father, John. He enjoyed developing land and made a career in real estate, brokerage and mortgage sales, as well as owning and operating other businesses in the Columbia Basin and Spokane area.

On Dec. 8, 1972, he married Donna Bentley. They moved to Tri-Cities where Don continued his career in real estate development, brokerage and sales. In 1981, Don and Donna moved to the Spokane-Post Falls area, where Don continued his real estate career. No matter what community Don lived in, he was active in city council and local service clubs, always donating his time and energy.

Don had a passion for people and a loving heart that always wanted to help and minister. He will be greatly missed by his family and loved ones.

He is survived by his children, Donald R. Bodenman and wife, Sylvia, of Moses Lake, Wash.; Cindy Rose McKay and husband, Dave, of Poulsbo, Wash.; and Bradly D. Bodenman and wife, Jodi, of Gig Harbor, Wash.; stepchildren, Michael Kirk, of Spokane, Gail Bisaro, of Post Falls, Idaho, and Myrna Dossey, of Post Falls; sister, Pearl Yamamoto, of Quincy, Wash.; along with 23 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 6, 2018, at Crista Shores in Silverdale, Wash., and 2 p.m. on Jan. 8, 2018, at Mountain View Bible Church in Post Falls, Idaho.
