Our beloved Dad went home to his Savior on October 9, 2013. Frank L. Spuler (Sonny) was born Sept. 23, 1928, in Pasco to Frank L. Spuler and Delma (Mills) Spuler. In 1946, he graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Sprague, Wash. Soon after he proudly served his country in the Army.
Frank married Esther Irvin, and for fifty years they made their home in Hauser Lake. For two decades he was the Water Master of Hauser. After 35 years he retired from Kaiser/Trentwood. While snowbirding in Quartzite, Ariz., he ran the sound systems and was known as the “Music Man.”
In 2005, Frank married Frances Baker and they made their home in Otis Orchards, Wash, with their little dog, “Rusti.” Together they enjoyed the theatre and he was a Husband of DAR, or HODAR, with the Daughters of the American Revolution. He was a member of the Eagles and Evergreen Railroad Modeler’s Club. His many interests included mechanics and welding, and he was a licensed ham radio operator. He always had a beautiful lawn and mowed it right up to the very last days of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; daughter, Carol Spuler and Peter Cochran; granddaughter, Amelia and Lee Kirk. Sisters, Doris and Norm Peterson; Shirley Taberner and Frank Martin; sister in-law, Norma and Bill Hockinson, and numerous nieces and nephews, and little buddy “Rusti.” He was preceded in death by his first wife, Esther; and son Gary; his parents and twin baby sisters, Mary Jean and Frances Louise. Dad, you were a hard worker, great provider, and always took care of your family. We love you and we will be together again!
