Mary Souza has failed a basic test in her “job application” to be our mayor.
When the question is, “How can I contribute $1,000 to your campaign and keep my name secret?” The answer is not, “Find some agency name to hide behind.” The answer is “You can’t.” Not even, “Let’s try an agency, and I can always give it back.”
This is an astounding lapse in judgment from someone who likes to talk about “transparency.”
By the way, the implication that those in office meet in “back rooms” is to accuse them of illegal activity. If someone has that info, put it up! It’s a serious accusation, easy to imply because one would have to prove a negative to defend oneself. The burden is on the accuser: Show your evidence or drop the charge!
Mary’s run is based on “restoring trust.” These tactics don’t lead to trust. In many cases Mary or others have slung around un-proved innuendo and these innuendoes (lies?) have destroyed trust. Now she brings herself forward on a white horse, claiming that she alone can restore the very trust she has destroyed.
