DEBATE: Rise above distortions

It seems as though some of our more progressive friends here in North Idaho do not know the difference between fact and opinion. I wrote a letter defending the Tea Party. The responses to that letter were both sad and comical. Some misguided individuals even equated the Tea Party to the Nazi Party. Some believe that the Tea Party members are nothing more than "Walmart Republicans." I had my intelligence questioned along with my honesty. I even had one guy make fun of my name. Now I have pretty thick skin, the personal attacks don't bother me, but I was hoping to start an intelligent dialogue regarding the problems that face this country. The left in this country doesn't seem interested in a conversation. The only truth they seem willing to accept is their own. As if they own the truth.

I hope we can get past this whole Republican versus Democrat nightmare we are stuck in. Until then, let's try to keep it civil, people.
