Those in search of affordable home options in central Post Falls should take a ride down Quail Run Boulevard. Splintering off the road, which is located just east of Idaho Street around 20th Avenue, you’ll find a mix of established neighborhoods and even some new construction.
First up, the fresh stuff. A collection of new construction homes at Yellowstone Avenue and Mariah Drive are being swiftly attained. Brad Jordan, a Realtor with Hope Realty, said the collection of more than 20 lots are nearly sold out. He represents one last home in the development, a 1,408-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bathroom new house built by Daum Construction, priced at $233,700.
“All through the winter, it’s been busier than last,” Jordan said about the North Idaho market’s continued growth.
Next up, the Singing Hills and Wind Song neighborhoods, where you can find some affordable midsize homes built in the mid-1990s. The area is well-maintained, with Singing Hills riding up closer to the Singing Hills Park at Teton Avenue and St. Helen’s Drive. The seven-acre park area includes a playground, sports field, covered shelter and paved trail.
Available homes in the area include a three-bedroom home just under 1,500 square feet that sits close to the park on a cul-de-sac, priced just under $220,000, and a four-bedroom, 1,800+ square-foot home a block or so south of the park priced at just under $250,000.
Just a bit more south on the Quail Run (it’s fun to say), the Wind Song neighborhood has two listed homes priced even less — a three-bedroom, 1200+ square-foot home for $200,000, and a four-bedroom, 1,400+ square-foot home at $220,000. Both homes were built in 1994.
Centrally located just off Idaho Street, the neighborhoods off Quail Run are just a couple minutes from local schools, most food and amenities, and convenient access to Interstate 90. Just across Idaho Street from the Singing Hills Park is Hilde Kellogg Park (Idaho and 21st), a 5-acre, multi-purpose sports field with play structure, picnic area and horseshoe pits. The park is dedicated to Hilde Kellogg, a longtime state legislator.
Less than a minute away, north on Idaho Street past Poleline Avenue is the Prairie Falls Golf Course, an enjoyable course I’m afraid to return to because one time I tanked a ball into somebody’s house. There was no damage, FYI.
