JMiller Salon is embarking on a heightened journey under its new owners, local sisters Michelle Foeller and Deana Netherton, both previous staff members of the salon.

JMiller Salon, one of the largest and most iconic salons in our area, is located in the Riverstone development at 2087 Main Street in Coeur d'Alene. JMiller Salon offers high quality services in a beautiful, comfortable environment surrounded by shops and restaurants.

Michelle and Deana purchased the salon last December and now have 26 staff member's working alongside them.

“We couldn't have done this without our staff and client base,” Michelle said. “We're just so honored to have the chance to run this salon because we touch people's lives every day. When you feel good about your hair, you feel good about everything, you know? That's part of our job – to make people feel amazing.”

JMiller Salon stylists are educated in looking at each client and knowing exactly what kind of hairstyle will work for their unique facial shape, hair texture and lifestyle. JMiller offers stylists who specialize in hair extensions, in customizing color and in natural curly hair – all to create the look that each customer desires by using top of the line products.

“We have skilled stylists that are extensively trained in advanced hair cutting training like Sassoon and other top-of-the-line educators,” Michelle said. “We have a barrage of ongoing continuing education to keep our stylists up to date on current trends, product knowledge and technical skills.”

Current hair trends for women include bayalage, which is a coloring style that mimics the effects of the sun and creates soft, natural-looking highlights that effortlessly blend in as hair grows out. For men, tapered cuts – where hair is shaved close on the sides and left longer on top – and tidy beards are trending.

“When we do a consultation for color, for example, if the client would like to go from a very dark color to platinum blonde, it's our job as professional stylists to educate them that a service like that can take three to five appointments so that we can stabilize the integrity of their hair to ensure that it isn't damaged, Michelle said. “The wellbeing of our clients' happiness – and hair – is of the utmost importance to us.”

Specialized services such as hair extensions, keratin straightening systems and caring for natural, curly hair aren't all that JMiller Salon has to offer.

Esthetics services include micro needling, microdermabrasion, microblading, permanent makeup, makeup artistry and eyelash extensions.

.JMiller Salon works to keep a small environmental footprint by carrying retail products that are completely safe and without any harmful chemicals. Key components that JMiller looks for in a potential product line include recycled packaging and its being sulfite-free, paraben-free, dye-free and cruelty-free.

Michelle worked as a stylist and the Salon Coordinator at JMiller Salon for 10 years and has over 30 years' experience in the hair industry. She has also worked as a platform artist, where she educated other stylists in technology and techniques. Michelle's focuses on one-on-one training and created a mentoring program at JMiller Salon for new stylists coming out of Beauty Collage. This is the second salon that Michelle has owned.

Deana worked as a receptionist at JMiller Salon for eight years and has over 23 years' financial experience in the U.S. Military and Government , as well as a master's degree in finance. Deana continues to manage the front desk in addition to her other responsibilities, as the sisters believe that having an owner as their front desk representation really makes a difference in how they relate to their clients.

“We just couldn't have done this without our staff,” the sisters said. “We're not just like a family, we're also a great team. We take care of each other, support each other and help each other out.”
