MOSCOW — Lake City senior Keara Simpson recorded her second straight double-double, scoring 24 points and grabbing 12 rebounds as the Timberwolves earned a 43-37 road win at Moscow on Monday night.

“Keara played her heart out, and led us in every way,” Lake City coach James Anderson said. “She was determined that we weren’t going to lose this game.”

After a slow first quarter, Lake City (4-3) outscored the 4A Bears the rest of the way, helped by the defense of Dejah Wilson (6 steals) and Bridget Rieken (3 steals).

Gracey Meyer led Moscow with 14 points.

“Moscow’s a tough team, and it’s a really hard place to play. We had opportunities to pull away and didn’t take advantage of them,” Anderson said, noting his team’s 12-for-28 performance from the free-throw line.

Lake City hosts Pasco on Friday.
