Johnson, a senior, won the 145-pound title at the Tri-State Invitational, pinning Riley Cisne of Chiawana in 51 seconds at North Idaho College on Dec. 16, then won the 145-pound title at the Sierra Nevada Classic on Dec. 29 in Reno. “There was a couple of opportunities that he missed in the past couple of seasons (at Tri-State),” Lakeland coach Rob Edelblute said. “He had an attitude that nobody was going to take it from him. He’s really turned it up a notch in his final year.”
