NIC golf: Cardinal men lead after first day of tourney at Avondale

HAYDEN LAKE ó The North Idaho College menís golf team leads Community Colleges of Spokane by five strokes after the first day of a Northwest Athletic Conference league match hosted by NIC on Sunday at Avondale Golf Club.

Four Cardinals are in the top 10, led by Jesse Henderson, who is tied for third after shooting an even-par 72.

NICís women shot 252 on the first day and trail first-place Columbia Basin by seven shots. Mikal Jerman of NIC is in fourth after shooting 82.

The tournaments conclude today.
