COEUR d'ALENE - The Coeur d'Alene Fire Department, Kootenai County Fire and Rescue and Northern Lakes Fire Protection responded to a two-alarm fire Saturday afternoon in the Landings neighborhood in Coeur d'Alene.

The Coeur d'Alene Fire Department reported that the fire appeared to have started outside the home and spread to the roof and attic. Most of the fire was in the attic. Crews spent three hours extinguishing the fire and salvaging contents from the inside.

One occupant was home at the time of the fire. None of the occupants of the home or their animals were injured.

The cause of the fire is still undetermined and the investigation is open at this time. The fire department would like to remind residents to always keep a clear space around all exterior walls of their home.
