DeLong, Christensen shine at PNW PGA Senior Players'

ALOHA, Ore. - Mike DeLong of The Coeur d'Alene Resort shot a 1-under-par 143 (71-72) to finish third at the Senior Players' Championship which concluded Tuesday at The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club.

Jeff Fought of Black Butte Ranch Golf Club in Sisters, Ore., birdied the first extra hole of a playoff to defeat Tom Sovay of The Golf Club at Redmond Ridge in Redmond, Wash. Both shot 3-under 141 for the two rounds.

Bob Christensen of Post Falls shot 70-65-135 to win the amateur net division by 10 strokes.

In the four-ball team competition, DeLong and Christensen shot 67-68-135 and tied for third, five shots behind the winners, Tom Carey and his amateur Dave Lydell of Meriwether National Golf Club of Hillsboro, Ore., who shot 64-66-130.
