SENATORS: Waiting to feel shame

Print Article

Former Republican strategist Rick Wilson ridiculed Moscow Mitch McConnell’s attempt to keep Republican senators in line over the Senate impeachment trial.

Wilson compared the Republican efforts to cover up for Trump “to a weekend bender gone horribly wrong.”

“On Friday night, it’s a lot of fun and you’re having a great time. On Saturday, you’re starting to feel it, and on Sunday there’s a dead hooker in the trunk.”

The real question is why so many Republican senators are willing to cover up for this corrupt president and will there be a political cost for them or not in November (particularly vulnerable senators)?

Wilson concludes, “Are any of these senators going to be ashamed by the time this is over?”
