Governor appoints Tyler Drechsel to Dalton Gardens City Council

BOISE - Governor Brad Little announced today his appointment of Tyler Drechsel to serve on the Dalton Gardens City Council.

Drechsel works as the Northern Lakes Fire District fire marshal and division chief. He began serving as a volunteer firefighter in 1996 before accepting a position of fire inspector in 2008 and fire marshal/division chief in 2015. He attended North Idaho College.

Dalton Gardens voters recalled their mayor and two of four city council members during the March 12 election, which became official on March 19. The recall necessitated the governor to appoint one city council member, at which point the city council will have a quorum and can follow the law for the appointment of a new mayor and fourth city council member.

Drechsel will serve in the appointed position until the next city election in November of 2019.

“Tyler’s long history of community service and involvement made him an ideal candidate for this appointment. I have no doubt he will fulfill the duties as councilmember to the best of his ability,” Governor Little said. “I want to sincerely thank all the applicants for this position. I appreciate their willingness to serve, listen to, and engage the people of Dalton Gardens.”
