SHERIFF: Make him one and done

| April 19, 2024 1:00 AM

Sheriff Bob Norris is up for re-election this year and needs to be shown the door.

Full disclosure — I voted for Sheriff Norris the last time based on his assurances at several town meetings that he would focus on enforcing Idaho state laws and NOT playing politics. I should have done more research.

Before relocating to Idaho, Norris was a long-term California resident and gained his law enforcement background working for the liberal stronghold of Los Angeles. Prior to being elected, Norris worked at Kootenai County Search and Rescue where he was put on administrative leave in 2019 for “political interference.”

At several town meetings, Sheriff Norris was asked why he wasn’t enforcing long-standing Idaho statutes. His unbelievable response was that he can exercise his “discretion” as to what laws he chooses to enforce. It must have been during his career in radical California that he learned to ignore any laws that his Los Angeles viewpoint didn’t agree with.

Reading his background information on Wikipedia is a shocker. Sheriff Norris and his supporters seem to like to label any detractors as RINOs or worse. I think they like using the time-honored response to criticism by employing gas-lighting and finger-pointing perfected so well by the California left. I myself am a lifelong registered proud Republican.

I encourage all Kootenai County residents to look up the information for yourselves and come to your own conclusions. Just google “Robert Norris (Sheriff) — Wikipedia” and hold on to your chair.
