SUSPENDED GAMES

Apparently, there is no tying in baseball, either.

At least in the Inland Empire League.

Tuesday’s second game between Lake City at Post Falls, initially reported to The Press as a tie by coaches, is now scheduled to be resumed next Thursday at 4 p.m. at Post Falls High.

The game was called due to darkness in the top of the sixth inning, with Lake City batting and leading 5-4 after scoring once in the inning.

Since the inning wasn’t completed, the game reverted to the score following the last completed inning, which was 4-4.

Also, the second game of Post Falls’ baseball doubleheader at Lakeland on April 16, suspended due to darkness, is scheduled to be resumed next Friday at 3 p.m.

In that one, Post Falls was leading 8-0 and batting in the top of the fifth when the game was called.

Five full innings must be completed for the game to be official.
