On July 3, 2019, at 3:33 a.m., Gloria Willard went to be with her Savior. She was living in Kansas City, Mo., at the time, with her husband, Al Willard. She had been battling frontotemporal dementia as well as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). She passed at home, in the loving arms of her husband and under the beautiful care of hospice, as well as her loving caregivers. The joy and peace of her journey home were overwhelming, as was the presence of Jesus.
She leaves behind her husband, Al Willard; son, Jim Willard and wife, Daisy; son, John Willard; daughter, Heather Lauri and husband, Chris and sons, Judah and Jonah; daughter, Jessica Frazee and husband, Aaron and sons, David, Jeriah, and Ezra. She also leaves behind her siblings, Pam Hudson, Deborah Hudson, Lawrence Hudson and Mike Hudson. Along with her family, whom she loved fiercely, Gloria leaves behind many adopted family members who she loved as her own.
She gathered and loved many, and made a beautiful place in her heart and family for those who needed it. She was devoted to loving and serving Jesus and all those He would bring her way. Her family rejoices with her that her pain is no more and she is free and whole in the arms of her Savior, and yet they deeply mourn the loss of her beautiful life in this world. Her last few years were marked by her disease, yet they were also a time of deep peace and joy in her heart. While her body wasted away before us and her mind betrayed her, her spirit grew bright within her. We know for certain each moment of her life was of utmost value and purpose.
Her family would like to invite those who knew her to celebrate and remember her life with them. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, at Anthem Church in Hayden. A reception and light lunch will follow.
