Delila Betty Wild, 80

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Delila Betty Wild, 80, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, formerly a lifetime Silver Valley resident, passed away Oct. 4, 2019, at the Schneidmiller Hospice House of Coeur d’Alene.

She was born Nov. 15, 1938, at the family home of Cataldo, Idaho; Delila was the daughter of Elmer E. and Evelyn (Ledford) Kitchen.

Delila attended schools in Kingston. She was united in marriage to George H. Wild on Oct. 30, 1957, in Coeur d’Alene; George passed away in January of 2001.

Delila was a cosmetologist. In 1975, she opened a beauty shop in her home in Kingston and was a hairdresser and a wonderful friend to many for 15 years. After moving to Post Falls in 1992, she drove school bus and cooked at the Falls Christian Academy of Post Falls.

Delila was a member of the Real Life Ministries of Pinehurst; she had also served as a clerk for driver license testing in the Silver Valley.

Delila dearly loved her family and she especially enjoyed being a grandmother and a great-grandmother; she rarely missed attending her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. She also enjoyed gardening and roses, cooking, sewing, crocheting and was an avid reader, especially her Bible. She was a true prayer warrior and would put her heart and soul into praying for people.

Delila is survived by five children: Arlene (Gary) Tribbett of Tacoma, Wash., Terri Seymour of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Tim Wild of Spokane, Wash., Tina St. Clair of Osburn, Idaho, and Steve (Donnet) Wild of Post Falls, Idaho; 10 grandchildren, Gary, Nicole, Laura, Steve, Brianne, Sammy, Chad, Zack, Dakota and Dalton; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Nancy Nelson of Spokane, Wash., who was like a daughter to Delila; four sisters, Delta, Pam, Darlene and Theresa; numerous nieces and nephews. Delila was preceded in death by her father, Elmer, and her brother, Dewellyn, who were both killed in the Sunshine Mine Fire in 1972; her mother, Evelyn; her husband, George Wild; two other brothers, Delmar and Dwight; and one sister, Dorothy.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., at the Silver Valley Worship Center of Smelterville, Idaho; a reception and potluck luncheon will be held at the Church Fellowship Hall following services. Interment will be held at the Osburn Day Cemetery of Osburn, Idaho.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Real Life Ministries, 10 S. Division St., Pinehurst, ID 83850 or to the Schneidmiller Hospice House, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation for the love and care that was given to Delila and her family by the staff of the Schneidmiller House.
