LEGION BASEBALL: Rain washes away season openers

The season-opening American Legion games for the Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen and the Prairie Cardinals class AA teams were rained out on Friday.

Prairie’s opening round games against the Spokane Expos 19U and Spokane Expos White in a Memorial Day tournament at Post Falls High were postponed. The Cardinals are scheduled to host Toyota Baseball at Post Falls High today at 5:30 p.m.

In addition, the doubleheader between the Spokane Cannons and host Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen at Thorco Field was also postponed. No makeup date was announced.

The Lums are scheduled to travel to Missoula for a Memorial Day tournament, opening today vs. the Bozeman Bucks at 3 p.m.
