Burch, a senior, won the 110-meter hurdles during the state 5A track and field meet on May 18 at Eagle High, winning in 14.68 seconds. “I saw Jojo (Meridian senior Josiah Seward, who finished second) on my right,” Burch said. “I knew I had him — because we’ve been going at it this whole season. This means so much to me. It is such a blessing. It’s great to finally get that — senior year, last high school race, to finally get that state championship.”
