DEPOT: Don't buy into a lie

| July 8, 2011 10:00 PM

A lady came up to one of our Post 14 members at the American Legion Baseball Tournament at McEuen Field on July 2 with a complaint about Home Depot that immediately caught our attention. She advised that Home Depot employees are not allowed to place an American Flag Pin on their work apron.

This is a false rumor that needs be corrected immediately. Such information hits very close to home at this time of year when we are celebrating our independence, especially to us veterans. Our Chaplain, Richard Baker, contacted management in Home Depot and verified that their employees ARE allowed to place The Flag on their apron and to wear it proudly.

For some reason people pass along rumors such as this without taking the time to verify it and it could seriously damage a fine business. Home Depot offers a discount to active duty military and military retirees. Home Depot, we thank you for your support to veterans in our community.
